About the “Skyway Friends” community group
Some references on this page mention the unincorporated community group that runs the volunteer effort to preserve and expand the Saint Paul skyways — known by names including “Friends of the Saint Paul Skyway,” “Friends of the Skyway,” “Skyway Friends,” “FOS,” or any similar or successor wordmark, brand, or trade name (and including the skywayfriends.org domain operator). That community group is distinct from Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ, and is not the owner of the eat. application.
Ownership
The eat. application — including the site, source code, content, design, beta-tester registry, registration data, navigation flows, photographs, brand elements, and APIs — is © Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ, all rights reserved. All right, title, and interest, including all intellectual-property rights, are owned solely and exclusively by Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ.
No other person or organization — including without limitation any unincorporated community group operating under the names “Friends of the Saint Paul Skyway,” “Friends of the Skyway,” “Skyway Friends,” “FOS,” or any similar or successor wordmark, brand, or trade name (including the skywayfriends.org domain), and including any of its officers, organizers, leads, members, volunteers, donors, partners, contractors, or affiliates, whether past, present, or future — holds or has ever held any ownership interest in the Service. No collaboration, hosting, promotion, or other arrangement transfers, assigns, licenses, or otherwise grants any such right except by a written instrument signed by Jacob Ramos that expressly does so.
Any permission any such community group or its affiliates may have to access, display, link to, embed, or reference the Service is a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, royalty-free, and fully revocable license, terminable at any time for any reason or no reason, and conditioned on prominent and proper attribution to “Jacob Ramos / Open-Civ” together with a working, user-visible link to spskyway.com.
Trademarks & brand
“eat.”, the eat. wordmark, and all associated brand elements are owned by Jacob Ramos and Open-Civ. Use of these marks outside the Service requires written permission. The names and marks of participating restaurants belong to those restaurants and are used here with their permission.
“Progressive dinner” is a generic, descriptive term for a type of event in which courses are served at different locations over the course of a single evening. No one owns the term and no one owns the format. What eat. owns is the application that makes it practical to coordinate one across multiple independent restaurants — the capacity-balancing logic, the per-restaurant timing, the attendee flow, the check-in system, and the surrounding software. Anyone is free to host a progressive dinner; they are not free to copy this application to do it.
